The sun has risen but the city sleeps, free from hands pushing through doors and the pressing of elevator buttons, free from carrying the weight on their floors and the conversation in their corridors .
I walk these streets every day but I finally got the time to slow down and have these buildings to myself, to enjoy their architecture, see what it is they want to want to say. It’s not a tale of the old but new stories, stories of the progress that our city has seen recently. They have added to our vertical real estate and decorated our skyline. They have given us a reason to stop and look up, something I know many haven’t done in a long while. Today they rest, there is a peace, they’re resting to be able to provide all they can for us to use every day. A peace I no longer wanted to disturb, I walk on.
