It was an extremely busy month at the office and I needed to find a way to get my creative energy flowing and simply forget about the office if only for a little bit. Photography does that for me, I get to capture the world through my eyes and feel what I feel when I see it, so I grabbed a Canon Rebel T5 woke up with the sunrise and took a walk into Port of Spain.
Our capital is modernizing, I often wish we had kept more of the older building’s architecture but change is constant so progress we must. We still have alot of great architecture that has been restored, Sacred Hearts Catholic Church is one of them. It was early Saturday morning, the gate was locked so I had to enjoy the view from outside, the couple pigeons that nested on the roof kept me company for a while.
I stood in the presence of a building that was definitely even older than my grandparents. I thought to myself, only if these walls could talk, would they tell me secrets, would they tell me of those that knelt between its’ benches, the prayers that was said. I was definitely standing in the presence of history, I felt it, I respected it, I walked on.
Sacred Hearts Catholic Church through my eyes, no filters.
